FARM PRODUCTS

Plants
We are so honored to be your farmers.

We understand the importance of good local food for our environment, for our bodies, and for our community.

We use what mother nature provides to  grow vegetables here at Agate Acres, sun, rain, soil and bugs. We limit plastic usage and never using chemicals or pesticides. The growing season is short here in Northeastern Minnesota, so we start all our seedlings in our greenhouse as well as use a 24'x72' hoophouse to extend the season.  All vegetables are farm washes, but should be washed again once at your home.

2023 SEASON UPDATE:
VEGETABLE CSA:

The CSA share will be very similar to last season - 15 weeks long, a wide variety of vegetables, and with an optional maple syrup add on. We’ve got our fingers crossed for a simpler spring (less infrastructure to build, less flooding, and more temperate weather) so we will have better luck with our potatoes, winter squash, and pumpkins this year.

We will have 20 CSA shares available this year. Pick up spots will be at the farm and in Silver Bay and Finland.

We are also supplying several CSA shares to CHUM’s food shelf. We are excited to support the work of CHUM and to offer fresh vegetables to folks in need.

CHICKEN:

We have pasture raised, organic fed broiler chickens available this season. These can be purchased ahead of time and picked up the day after the processing date. Pick up will occur at the end of July. We will send more information to customers via email closer to the date. Chickens are whole, frozen after processing, and can be picked up the next day from the farm. Chickens will be between 6.5-7.5# dressed weight.

FARM STAND:

We are opening a FARM STAND! This will be open on Wednesdays and Sundays from 12pm - dusk, Memorial Day through October. These hours are subject to change as we learn more about customers' desires so stay tuned for updates via email and social media. It will be self-serve with the option to pay via cash, check, & Venmo. Products will include all that is in season at the moment, including vegetables, flowers, value added products, bread, eggs, and chickens. We are part of the newly established Clover Valley Farm Trail
